Managing Multiple Social Sets

How to manage multiple brands or identities and seamlessly switch between them.

Typefully is purpose-built for people who write content for multiple brands or identities. Whether you're working on just a couple of social accounts or hundreds, switching between them is fast and easy.

What is a Social Set?

A social set is a collection of social media accounts for a person or brand, making it easy to write your content once and cross‑post across platforms. Each set has its own drafts, schedule, and analytics, and you can move them in teams to keep personal, business, or client work separate.

💡 The number of social sets included in our plans varies. You can learn more on the pricing page.

Switching Between Social Sets

Use the switcher at the top of the sidebar to quickly move between your social sets. Each switch loads that set's unique drafts, posted content, analytics, and scheduling preferences.

For power users, Typefully's Command Bar makes switching between social sets lightning-fast.

  • Just press Command + K

  • Type the name of the social set

  • Hit Enter to switch instantly.

See all your social sets on one calendar

Switching sets is what you want when you're heads-down on one brand. When you want the big picture, go to Plan.

The calendar on the Plan page shows posts from every social set you have access to, side by side, in a single view. Nothing to switch between.

💡 There's more to the calendar: three views, filters, drag and drop rescheduling, and planned posts. See Scheduling and Calendar for the full guide.

Adding Another Social Set

  1. Click the accounts menu at the top of the sidebar.

  2. Click Add New Social Set.

  3. Authenticate with the first account you want to publish on (X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads, or Mastodon).

  4. This will create a new social set.

  5. Add the other social accounts you want included in the social set.

Overview of Social Sets and Teams

In settings, you will find a more organised overview of all your social sets and how they are distributed across teams.

When Do You Need Multiple Social Sets?

💡 Each social set has an owner, which can be you (private) or a team (shared). You might need multiple social sets if you manage different brands, projects, or clients.

Here are some typical customer examples:

  • Creators with multiple brands

Example: You promote your personal brand and a business on X and LinkedIn. You'd then have a social set for your own brand and your business.

  • Marketing teams doing founder-led content

Example: Your startup makes content for the company brand and each of the co-founders. The marketing team ghostwrites for the founders and suggests quotes and things for them to share. That’s a social set for each founder and one for the company.

  • Content agencies that manage clients

Example: You run an agency with many client profiles. You'll want a social set for each client so they each have a calendar and their own analytics.

Organising social sets in teams

When working in a team or with clients, you may want some social sets to be visible only to a specific group—like a particular department, a client, or a content creator. That's why you can move social sets in teams and enable seamless collaboration .

⚠️ Reminder: Moving a social set transfers the ownership of the drafts and the accounts, not just access. Learn more about collaborating in teams here.
