Why Are Some X Posts Showing as “Unavailable”?

Here’s why you may see the message, “This Tweet is unavailable”.

Updated over 10 months ago

In rare instances, your tweets may become unavailable. This occurs when X/Twitter hides or blocks your posts or threads. When this happens, the affected posts will appear like this on your X profile:

Why is this happening?

This is an issue that can occasionally occur on Twitter/X's platform. According to their support team, posts may display as unavailable either due to problems with the specific post or temporary network outages.

Important: X treats posts shared through Typefully the same as those posted directly on X/Twitter. It's never Typefully's fault if a post appears "unavailable."

What are some reasons that your post may be unavailable?

Posts may be flagged for a number of reasons but could be one or more of the following:

  • Deleted or protected tweets

  • Banned, muted, or suspended keywords or hashtags

  • Mentioning a protected, suspended, or disabled account

  • The network is temporarily down

  • URLs included in the post may have been flagged as spam

Generally, this problem resolves on its own after a few hours. In case you have any additional questions, please reach out to [email protected].
