Typefully supports X Articles, allowing you to create long-form content for X without leaving your Typefully workspace.
Unlike regular X posts or threads, X Articles use a dedicated editor with a required title and body.
Who can publish X Articles?
To publish X Articles, you'll need:
An X account connected to Typefully
Access to the X Articles feature in Typefully
An X Premium subscription, as X requires Premium to publish Articles
💡 If your X account isn't eligible for Articles, X may reject the publication request and ask you to upgrade or use a supported account.

To create an X Article:
Click the ▼ dropdown next to New draft.
Under X (Twitter), select Article.
Enter your article title.

Supported formatting
The X Article editor supports rich formatting, including:
Headings
Paragraphs
Bold, italic, and strikethrough
Links
Bulleted and numbered lists
Quotes
You can also write using Markdown, and it will automatically be converted into rich formatting as you type. For example:
**bold**→ bold*italic*→ italic~~strikethrough~~→ strikethrough# Heading→ Heading## Subheading→ Subheading- List item→ Bulleted list
You can add media to your X Article, including:
Cover media
Inline images
Inline videos
GIFs
Current limitations
Keep the following in mind:
X Articles can only be published to X.
X Articles can’t be combined with other publishing platforms in the same draft. To publish the same content elsewhere, create a separate draft.
Previewing your article
Before publishing, you can preview your X Article directly in Typefully to review its formatting and overall appearance.
To preview your X Article:
Open your X Article draft.
Click the X Realistic Preview.
Review the title, body, formatting, and media.
Go back to the editor if you need to make changes before publishing.
After publishing
Once your X Article is published, Typefully stores the published X Article URL with your draft, making it easy to open, revisit, or share your article later.
To find your published X Article:
Open the published draft in Typefully.
At the top of the draft, look for Published on X.
Click the X icon next to it.
That should open the published X Article on X.
Copy or share the X Article URL whenever you need it.
Troubleshooting
If your X Article doesn't publish successfully, check the following:
Your X account is connected to Typefully.
Your X account has an active X Premium subscription.
Your article includes both a title and a body.
The draft is configured as an X Article only and isn't enabled for other publishing platforms.
The error returned by X (if any) doesn't indicate an account eligibility or permission issue.
💡 If everything looks correct and publishing still fails, please reach out to the support team or by clicking Help > Contact us inside Typefully.
FAQ
Can I schedule an X Article?
Yes. X Articles can be scheduled just like your other Typefully drafts.
Can I collaborate on X Articles with my team?
Yes. Your team can review and collaborate on X Article drafts in Typefully. Teammates with the right permissions can comment on or edit the draft before it’s published.
Can I use code blocks, dividers, or nested lists?
Not yet. Code blocks, dividers, and nested lists aren't currently supported in X Articles. For the best results, use headings, paragraphs, links, quotes, and single-level (flat) lists instead.
Can I cross-post an X Article to other platforms?
No. X Articles can only be published to X. If you'd like to share the same content on LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, or another platform, create a separate draft for that platform.
Do I need X Premium to publish an X Article?
Yes. X requires an eligible X Premium subscription to publish Articles. If your account isn't eligible, X will reject the publication request.
Can I edit an X Article after it’s been published?
After an X Article has been published, any further edits are managed on X. Changes made on X aren’t synced back to Typefully.
Can I convert an existing thread or post into an X Article?
