What You'll Get Notified About
Slack DM notifications fall into two categories: Inbox (personal) and Activity (account-level).
Inbox Notifications
These are personal notifications tied to your drafts and comments:
Notification | When it triggers |
New comment | Someone comments on your draft |
New reply | Someone replies to your comment |
Mentioned in comment | Someone @mentions you in a comment |
Activity Notifications
These are account-level notifications about publishing events:
Notification | When it triggers |
Post published | A draft is published (manually or scheduled) |
Auto-plug published | An auto-plug reply is published |
Auto-repost published | An auto-repost is published |
Publish failure | Any of the above fails to publish (always sent) |
Publish failure notifications are always sent regardless of your preference settings, so you never miss a failed post.

FAQ

What plans include Slack DM notifications?
Slack DM notifications are available on Creator, Team, and Agency plans.
Can I get notifications for specific social sets only?
Yes. Activity notifications (published, auto-plug, auto-repost) are configured per social set. Go to the notification settings for each social set to enable or disable them individually.
What Slack permissions does Typefully need?
Typefully requests minimal permissions:
chat:write(to send you DMs) andusers:read(to identify your Slack account). It does not read your messages or access any channels. Will I get notified about my own actions?
No. You won't receive notifications for posts you manually publish yourself. Scheduled posts, auto-plugs, and auto-reposts will still trigger notifications since they happen automatically.
